Job Purpose:
In a time of positive change within the Northern Ireland performance system, this is an outstanding opportunity to join the team within Sports Institute Northern Ireland (SINI) and its associated network of Performer Development Centres.
The person appointed will be responsible for the delivery and development of performance analysis services within both team and individual sport environments. They will be expected to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team developing a high performance culture through working within Northern Ireland's best athletes and coaches.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and deliver a range of performance analysis support services across SINI programmes with the aim of enhancing skill development and making performance impact. This will include individual, group and team interventions across a range of training and competition environments.
2. Direct the work of other SINI staff engaged in performance analysis to ensure that there is a co-ordinated approach to performance analysis support within the Institute network and to ensure that the service effectively meets its commitments to athletes, coaches and Governing Bodies
3. Develop, plan and allocate resources to ensure implementation of an appropriate performance analysis strategy for SINI.
4. Develop and use sport specific notation systems as required.
5. Undertake technical and tactical profiling as necessary to inform the preparation of athletes for major competition. These athletes will come from a range of sports
6. Manage the data collected to facilitate its use by SINI athletes, coaches, support staff and governing body personnel. This to include use of video streaming technology to support remote athletes and coaches.
7. Maintain a comprehensive, indexed database of work conducted with athletes and coaches and prepare reports for line managers within agreed timescales
8. Work within a multidisciplinary team to develop a high performance culture and make performance impact
9. Participate in the mentoring / training of developing analysts within the SINI network.
10. To take reasonable care for the health and safety of him/herself and of other persons who may be affected by his acts or omissions at work and to co-operate so far as is necessary to enable any duty or requirement imposed on SINI under statutory provisions to be performed or complied with.
11. Participate in organisational training and staff annual reviews
